Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2012, $800,000)
The National Criminal Justice Association (NCJA), in partnership with the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA), will work collaboratively with state administering agencies (SAAs) in developing statewide plans and using evidence-based practices and data driven strategies for the proper use of federal assistance for criminal justice provided through the Byrne JAG Program. NCJA will develop, design, and deliver a substantive program to continue and expand onsite technical assistance, training, data collection and analysis and disseminate publications and materials on effective strategies and programs supported by Byrne JAG program. Additionally, NCJA, in consultation with BJA and the SMART Office (Sex Offender Sentencing, Monitoring, Apprehending, Registering, and Tracking), will finalize the Office of Justice Planning's (OJP)Sex Offender Assessment and Planning Initiative (SOMAPI) and assist SMART in developing content for its 2012 Symposium on Sex Offender Management and Accountability.
