Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2011, $930,000)

The Institute for Intergovernmental Research(IIR) will support to the Nationwide Suspicious Activity Reporting Initiative, the Program Manager for the Information Sharing Environment, and the National Network of Fusion Centers. IIR will also provide programmatic support to the Nationwide Suspicious Activity Reporting Initiative (NSI) and NSI Program Management Office (PMO). The objectives include: coordination of state, local, and tribal subject-matter experts to ensure participation, consensus, endorsement, and adoption of NSI program products and solutions; researching, developing, and distributing documents, resources, training products, and multimedia presentations related to the national rollout and institutionalization of NSI; coordination and facilitation of workshops, conferences, and other relevant liaison activities with fusion center officials and other partners to provide training and technical assistance; and serving on a team that coordinates and supports NSI implementation activities relating to the business support, technical aspects, operational processes, privacy policy development, policy implementation, executive support, and training.
