Correctional Agency Information Sharing Improvement (TTA) Project

The IJIS Institute, in partnership with the National Center for State Courts and the Georgia Tech Research Institute, will develop an interoperable framework which is needed to translate between technology systems used by criminal justice and health practitioners. A Justice Continuity of Care Document (JCCD) will be developed and will include Global justice extensions in the CCD thereby ensuring interoperability. A formalized governance process will be provided to guide, create, and implement this work. The IJIS Institute will establish a common messaging architecture that follows the two most prevalent messaging standards used in the healthcare space: Direct Messaging (secure email) and Direct Web Services (system to system) enabling direct communication between agencies.
