BJA Visiting Fellows Program 2012; Police Innovation in the 21st Century - Predictive Policing, Intelligence-Led Policing, and Smart Policing

The Visiting Fellows Initiative is funded under the Edward Byrne Memorial Competitive Grant Program (Byrne Competitive Program) and the Harold Rodgers Prescription Drug Monitoring Program, the primary provider of federal criminal justice funding to state, local and tribal jurisdiction. The program provides leadership and services in grant administration and criminal justice policy development. This program furthers the Department's mission by developing strategies, tools, and policies in collaboration with BJA staff for the benefit of the field.
The Justice And Security Strategies Inc. will: 1) Enhance the capacity of law enforcement to use predictive analytics and tools associated with predicative policing; 2) Improve law enforcement's ability to use research findings and data-driven methods; 3) Enhance program development and innovations in law enforcement; and 4) Increase BJA staff's understanding of innovation in law enforcement, particularly predictive- and intelligence-led policing.
