Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2012, $1,500,000)
The purpose of the Adult Drug Court Discretionary Grant Program (42 U.S.C. 3797u et seq.) is to provide financial and technical assistance to states, state courts, local courts, units of local government, and Indian tribal governments to develop and implement drug treatment courts that effectively integrate evidence-based substance abuse treatment, mandatory drug testing, sanctions and incentives, and transitional services in a judicially supervised court setting with jurisdiction over substance-abusing offenders. Selected providers under this solicitation will support the Adult Drug Court Discretionary Grant Program (42 U.S.C. 3797u et seq.) grantees as well as the adult drug court field-at-large.
The National Association of Drug Court Professionals (NADCP) will use the grant funds to plan, deliver, evaluate, market, and modify a menu of training courses and publications for improved drug court team functioning and more effective services and better outcomes for drug court participants.
