Statewide Drug Court Technical Assistance Program

The purpose of the Adult Drug Court Discretionary Grant Program (42 U.S.C. 3797u et seq.) is to provide financial and technical assistance to states, state courts, local courts, units of local government, and Indian tribal governments to develop and implement drug treatment courts that effectively integrate substance abuse treatment, mandatory drug testing, sanctions and incentives, and transitional services in a judicially supervised court setting with jurisdiction over nonviolent, substance-abusing offenders.

The Fund for the City of New York, serving as a technical assistance provider, will use grant funds to assist BJA statewide enhancement grantees and other states to: provide direct support and information to state agencies to enhance the leadership of the statewide drug court effort; improve coordination and collaboration among drug courts statewide; achieve statewide performance measurement; and standardize drug court operations. The grantee will develop a program that will include a wide array of resources, information, strategies, and multi-media training and technical assistance activities that will be customized to meet the specific needs of individual jurisdictions.
