Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2012, $400,000)
The purpose of the Adult Drug Court Discretionary Grant Program (42 U.S.C. 3797u et seq.) is to provide financial and technical assistance to states, state courts, local courts, units of local government, and Indian tribal governments to develop and implement drug treatment courts that effectively integrate evidence-based substance abuse treatment, mandatory drug testing, sanctions and incentives, and transitional services in a judicially supervised court setting with jurisdiction over substance-abusing offenders. Selected providers under this solicitation will support the Adult Drug Court Discretionary Grant Program (42 U.S.C. 3797u et seq.) grantees as well as the adult drug court field-at-large.
The National Association of Drug Court Professionals (NADCP) will use the grant funds to operate the National Drug Court Resource Center. NADCP will: maintain the National Drug Court Resource Center database; develop and maintain a searchable, online map of all U.S. Drug Courts; collect, catalog, maintain, and make available drug court operational documents; develop and disseminate resources on national, state, and local drug court activity and operations; and support federal agencies and national partners with drug court information.
