State of Colorado Response to Aurora Theater Shooting

The Edward Byrne Memorial Discretionary Grant Program allows funds to be directed to jurisdictions in response to a precipitous increase in crime.

The Colorado Department of Public Safety will use the funds to partially reimburse the overtime costs for 13 agencies that have requested reimbursement in response to the Aurora Shooting in Aurora, Colorado. The agencies amassed unanticipated and extraordinary costs which the departments and their local governments cannot cover without disrupting other critical areeas of need in their jurisdictions.
