This award is made under the program entitled FY 2012 Anti-Human Trafficking Training and Technical Assistance for Tribal Law Enforcement. This award seeks to address gaps in training and technical assistance to ensure that tribal law enforcement agencies have the knowledge necessary and coordinate between agencies to identify, investigate, and rescue victims of all forms of human trafficking on tribal lands. The purpose of this award is to develop and deliver training for federally recognized Indian tribes with their respective law enforcement and criminal justice authorities (tribal, state and/or federal law enforcement) that will equip them with the knowledge and ability to identify and rescue victims of human trafficking on tribal lands.
The Upper Midwest Community Policing Institute (UMCPI) will: design and develop an Anti-Human Trafficking Training for Indian Country Law Enforcement course curriculum; conduct up to three pilot trainings; conduct a pilot training evaluation; and perform final curriculum revisions. CA/NCF
