Anti-Human Trafficking Training and Technical Assistance for Tribal Law Enforcement

This award will continue funding the Anti-Human Trafficking Training and Technical Assistance for Tribal Law Enforcement Program which seeks to address gaps in training and technical assistance to ensure that tribal law enforcement agencies have the knowledge necessary and coordinate between agencies to identify, investigate, and rescue victims of all forms of human trafficking on tribal lands.
The Upper Midwest Community Policing Institute (UMCPI) will utilize the supplemental funding to: deliver up to five trainings of the Anti-Human Trafficking Training and Technical Assistance for Tribal Law Enforcement curriculum; deliver up to four trainings of the Tribal Youth Peer-to-Peer Human Trafficking in Native American Communities Prevention curriculum; convert an existing anti-human trafficking training for the hotel industry to fit the Native American Casino Industry and deliver three pilots for casino employees and security; update the on-line "Trafficking 101" training courses currently available to law enforcement; design and develop an Anti-Human Trafficking Training for Indian Country Law Enforcement course curriculum; conduct up to three pilot trainings; conduct a pilot training evaluation; and, perform final curriculum revisions.
