Award Information
Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2013, $355,678)
Efficient and effective sharing of information between and among justice agencies and their partner organizations is at the heart of today's efforts across the nation to protect public safety and reduce offender recidivism. The project proposes an innovative method of collaboration that focuses specifically on sharing the latest best practices and research related to effective law enforcement techniques and programs. The applicant will create a technology platform that enables seamless sharing of information between criminal justice professionals. It will leverage social media and collaboration tools on a top-down and peer-to-peer basis and will create a feedback loop with justice practitioners and the research community. The platform will be based on work already completed in partnership with the Vera Institute of Justice, who has designed the basic structure for how this tool can promote a broad exchange of ideas and successes across New York State.
