Award Information
Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2013, $353,296)
Efficient and effective sharing of information between and among justice agencies and their partner organizations is at the heart of today's efforts across the nation to protect public safety and reduce offender recidivism. The project represents a natural continuation of work that is already underway within the state to establish a state Information Sharing Environment (ISE) as a local complement to the national ISE supported by the PM-ISE. With the support of PM-ISE, New Jersey has been constructing the technology infrastructure to allow the state's myriad law enforcement records management systems to communicate with each other, as well as with state agencies and the fusion center. This particular project will focus the state ISE infrastructure on improving coordination and information sharing along the Route 21 corridor in the northern part of the state where a disproportionate number of crimes (including homicide and assaults) are committed.
