Regional Information Sharing Systems (RISS) Collaboration Activities and Technical Assistance Support

The Regional Information Sharing System (RISS) Program offers a variety of services and support to law enforcement agencies to include federated searches of law enforcement databases through nationwide connectivity using internet technologies, intelligence analysis, bulletins and publications, surveillance equipment loans, confidential funds, investigative and prosecution support, and law enforcement and officer safety training.

The recipient will utilize FY 2013 RISS funds to continue to operate the RISS Collaboration Activities and Technical Assistance Support Program. The recipient will provide technical assistance, information technology support, coordination, and related support services to the six RISS Centers: Middle Atlantic-Great Lakes Organized Crime Law Enforcement Network (MAGLOCLEN), Rocky Mountain Information Network (RMIN), Western States Information Network (WSIN), Regional Organized Crime Information Center (ROCIC), New England State Police Information Network (NESPIN), and the Mid-States Organized Crime Information Center (MOCIC). The goals of the program include supporting the RISS Program, including its regional and nationwide efforts; coordinating activities and logistics related to RISS meetings, conference calls, and events; coordinating the collection, review, and distribution of RISS-related statistics and performance measures; researching and assisting in developing program-wide policies and procedures; and supporting RISS information sharing and investigative support programs by researching, developing, updating, and distributing educational materials, and provide multimedia expertise and services.
