The National Initiatives Reaching Criminal Justice Policymakers Program is designed to provide objective, fact-based information, resources, and training and technical assistance (TTA) on timely and pressing criminal justice issues of potential concern to the nation's criminal justice policymakers. The program's intent is to support pathways for evidence-based best practices to reach policymakers in various roles. This competitive grant announcement will support four categories focusing on providing specialized information, training and technical assistance to: State Administering Agencies (SAAs); state and local government policymakers (such as governors, state legislators, county officials, and mayors); parole authorities; and, state and local departments of corrections.

The American University (AU) is funded to: deliver TTA in strategic planning services to SAAs on criminal criminal justice topics; and, provide customized on-demand training to SAAs on the development and implementation of evidence-based programs through JAG funding, and conduct a focus group on the integration of evidence-based practices.
