The grantee will use their FY14 PREA Reallocation funds to reduce the incidence of sexual abuse at all seven of their institutions, and to provide successful prosecution to substantiated cases. This endeavor will be assisted by providing technology resources to staff at each institution which will allow them to monitor activities, as well as conduct investigations within each facility. The grantees registered nurses will be provided more specialized training for SAFE/SANE certifications, enabling them to appropriately respond to sexual abuse incidents. A credentialed instructor will provide 40 hours of hands-on teaching and practicum. Enhancement of technology and specialized training will be provided to the registered nurses which will strengthen the grantees ability to reduce the incidence of sexual abuse, as well as effectively demonstrate zero tolerance of sexual abuse to offenders, staff and visitors.
