Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2017, $108,332)

The State of New Hampshire has designed this Paul Coverdell Forensic Science Improvement grant proposal taking into account the forensic needs of the state of New Hampshire and the availability of those services to law enforcement and to the citizens they protect.

This application for funding is based on the allocation of funding to the two primary forensic laboratory service providers in the state. Those two service providers are the NH State Police Forensic Crime Lab and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner. While other agencies in New Hampshire conduct forensic crime scene investigatory functions, they do not have the capability or scope of either of these two entities. New Hampshire has, through this proposal process, taken into account the needs of local units of government.
