The Johnson County Sheriff's Office Crime Lab will use funds to decrease the number of property crimes in the backlog by increasing the number of property crime cases worked.

A DNA forensic technician will be hired to enhance the capacity of the Biology section. The technician will be used to triage and process samples for DNA analysis. This will also address a known bottleneck in the DNA analysis process in order to analyze samples previously collected that are not analyzed.
