Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2017, $734,059)

The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) will use this funding to establish a collection and analysis program for felony arrestee samples. OSBI will design, bid and distribute new arrestee collection kits on FTA paper. OSBI will hire and train new collection personnel from sheriff’s offices and police departments.
The goal is to develop an in-house analysis program including accessioning, processing, import, upload, and monitoring of continuing eligibility criteria. In order to maximize efficiency and outreach potential, the OSBI intends to roll out the collection program in a step wise manner beginning with a small selection of centrally located counties.
