Award Information
Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2018, $350,000)
The Michigan State Police (MSP) Forensic Science Division (FSD) has recognized inefficiencies throughout their entire system - not only in the biology/DNA section - that are hindering the laboratory's ability to meet the demands for analysis. The MSP FSD proposes to complete a full Lean Six Sigma evaluation of their case management strategies and overall service delivery model in order to ensure the system is functioning at its highest possible capacity. They will utilize an existing contract with Sorenson to perform a Lean Six Sigma analysis of the entire laboratory. This project is based on a smaller project that as described had extremely positive results for the DNA section of the agency.
