Award Information
Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2018, $574,682)
The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension Forensic Science Services (MN BCA FSS) proposes the initiation of a Multidisciplinary Evidence Processing approach that will increase the efficiency and throughput of DNA evidence by providing trained technicians to accomplish the base level processing in DNA and non-DNA disciplines. This will increase the number of hours available for more experienced scientists. The Minnesota BCA FFS proposes to reprioritize and streamline the processing of property crimes, weapons cases, and drug sentences. Through this project, the FSS will purchase a high capacity liquid handling instrument to increase the overall capacity of the DNA section.
