FY 2019 DNA CEBR: Oakland County Sheriff's Office

The Oakland County Sheriff’s Office (OCSO) requests FY 2019 DNA Capacity Enhancement for Backlog Reduction (CEBR) Program funding to support the Forensic Science Laboratory’s mission: to provide our clients, the criminal justice system, and the individuals of the communities that we serve with the highest quality of forensic services in an efficient and timely manner. Specifically, grant funds are requested to expand the laboratory’s DNA testing capacity through an increase in staffing and instrumentation. One CEBR-funded Forensic Biologist position will be supported, two additional positions will be supported, and a 3500 genetic analyzer will be purchased to increase laboratory throughput and reduce the number of DNA samples awaiting analysis.
