Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2019, $270,013)
The Lake County Crime Laboratory (LCCL) is a forensic laboratory performing DNA analysis for criminal investigations. The LCCL proposes to utilize a portion of the 2019 CEBR grant funding to retain the DNA analyst to complete approximately 300-400 cases per year. The LCCL intends to utilize the remaining portion of the 2019 CEBR grant funding to purchase laboratory automation instrumentation to perform DNA extraction as well as to set up the quantification and amplification samples.
