The Alabama Department of Forensic Sciences (ADFS) will use the funds from this award for the following goals: 1) increase the capacity of the casework laboratory through the use of overtime and the purchase of DNA testing supplies to analyze DNA cases; 2) to prevent a DNA database sample backlog through the purchase of supplies and the funding of overtime to analyze the database samples; and to increase the capacity of the casework laboratory through the purchase of eight liquid handling robots.
