FY 2019 DNA Capacity Enhancement and Backlog Reduction Program - San Francisco

The San Francisco Police Department Criminalistics Laboratory (SFPD Crime Lab) is responsible for analyzing evidential material associated with criminal investigations for the City and County of San Francisco Police Department, the Sheriff's Department, and other local law enforcement agencies operating within the City and County of San Francisco. The Federal funding from this award will be used to: 1) Purchase three (3) next generation QIAGEN EZ1 Advanced XLs for DNA extraction; 2) purchase three (3) QIAGEN QIAcube Connects for DNA extraction; 3) Provide required continuing education for laboratory criminalists; 4) provide training for laboratory criminalists, and 5) provide overtime funding for DNA testing.
