SSoM will implement a multi-faceted approach to preventing school violence through professional learning, coordinated school partnerships, and resources and training on whole child skill development. Implementation of these projects will proactively teach students and staff the skills to thrive with interpersonal relationships, self- and social awareness, and conflict resolution skills, including anti-bullying techniques. Simultaneously, SSoM will help promote school and community wellness and coordinated support systems, through the following project goals: 1. Increase professional learning on proactive approaches to mental health (whole child practices, trauma-informed practices, restorative justice practices, wellness, and self-care strategies), 2. Connect schools and communities for collaborative approaches to wellness, 3. Provide resources and support for schoolwide programs focusing on whole child skill development, 4. Align resources with existing efforts through organizational partnerships, amplifying existing mental health efforts through other Montana state and regional entities, and 5. Help build sustainability for continued support – externally and internally.
