BJA Program Information
Alzheimer’s Initiatives
With support from BJA, the International Association of Chiefs of Police Alzheimer’s Initiatives program is committed to helping first responders improve their knowledge and skills to safeguard those currently living with Alzheimer’s disease.
Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program
The JAG Program provides states, tribes, and local governments with critical funding necessary to support a range of program areas, including those that address mental health program activities.
Justice and Mental Health Collaboration Program (JMHCP)
The purpose of JMHCP is to increase public safety by facilitating collaboration among the criminal justice, juvenile justice, mental health treatment, and substance abuse systems to increase access to treatment for this unique group of offenders.
Mental Health Courts Program
This program funds projects that seek to mobilize communities to implement innovative, collaborative efforts that bring systemwide improvements to the way the needs of adult offenders with mental disabilities or illnesses are addressed.
Police-Mental Health Collaboration (PMHC) Toolkit
The PMHC Toolkit provides resources for law enforcement agencies to partner with service providers, advocates, and individuals with mental illness and/or intellectual and developmental disabilities.
