Webinar: Provision of Medicaid and CHIP Services for Youth Involved in the Justice System and Upon Reentry

On July 23, 2024, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services issued a letter to State Health Officials addressing the statutory requirements in the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2023 regarding the availability of certain state plan services for incarcerated youth in Medicaid and the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP) and modification of CHIP eligibility requirements for children who become incarcerated in juvenile or adult corrections systems.

The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) and the Department of Justice (DOJ) invite you to participate in Provision of Medicaid and CHIP Services for Youth Involved in the Justice System and Upon Reentry, a webinar about new policy approaches designed to connect justice-involved youth with Medicaid and CHIP services. This discussion will take place on Tuesday, August 27, 2024, at 2 p.m. ET over Zoom.

In this webinar, HHS and DOJ leadership and subject matter experts will discuss how this opportunity will help advance health equity and build healthier and safer communities.
