This virtual convening, hosted by the Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) through the BJA-supported Comprehensive Opioid, Stimulant, and Substance Abuse Program (COSSAP), will focus on tackling one of the most critical challenges of our time: ending America’s opioid, stimulant, and substance abuse crisis.

The virtual setting will offer the feel of an in-person event, allowing participants to connect directly with colleagues to discuss relevant issues and trends, share ideas, exchange resources, and gain new skills to improve programs.

Session topics will focus on how jurisdictions were able to pivot during the COVID-19 pandemic to meet the needs of their communities, using innovation to build or expand successful partnerships, harm-reduction programs, first responder diversion programs, medication-assisted treatment programs, and more.

Additionally, COSSAP grantees will share their experiences, including project successes, challenges faced, barriers overcome, and best practices for continued services during these unprecedented times. Throughout the event, attendees will have opportunities to ask panelists questions, engage in mentoring opportunities, and network with peers.
