This virtual presentation will introduce the Core Standards for Sexual Assault Investigations Guide to practitioners, which was created by members of the Sexual Assault Kit Initiative (SAKI) Training and Technical Assistance (TTA) Law Enforcement Working Group.

This presentation will address gaps commonly found in sexual assault investigations. The discussion will highlight ways in which commanders, supervisors and investigators can use this guide and other resources to ensure more thorough investigations. It will also address ways that agencies can work toward standardization of qualities that define a “good” investigation.

This webinar will be presented by Jim Markey, Senior Law Enforcement Specialist, RTI International, and Andre Richards, Policing Research Analyst, RTI International. In addition, Amy Durall, International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) and Lieutenant Jordan Satinsky, Deputy Commander, Montgomery County Police Department will be attending to answer questions and provide their expertise.

This webinar is offered through the BJA-supported SAKI TTA program.
