- FY 2022 National Institute of Justice Evaluation of OJP Community Based Violence Intervention and Prevention Initiative (CVIPI) Projects
The presenters will discuss the purpose and goals of the opportunities; review eligibility requirements; and address frequently asked questions.
CVIPI seeks to prevent and reduce violent crime in communities by supporting comprehensive, evidence-based violence intervention and prevention programs based on partnerships between community residents, local government agencies, victim service providers, community-based organizations, law enforcement, hospitals, researchers, and other community stakeholders.
The Bureau of Justice Assistance (BJA) is administering CVIPI, working in partnership with the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP), the Office for Victims of Crime (OVC), and the National Institute of Justice (NIJ). This collaborative approach will help ensure jurisdictions have access to the expertise to address community violence that involves both youth, young adults and adults, both those perpetrating this violence and those who are victims of the violence.
