Jurisdictions across the country are grappling with developing comprehensive, cross-sector, community-based crisis response systems that address the needs of individuals involved in the criminal justice system who have mental health and/or substance use disorders and provide early intervention and deflection opportunities away from the justice system.

Launched in 2017, Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinics (CCBHCs) provide a coordinated, comprehensive, 24/7 behavioral health care model at the state and local level often involving key criminal justice partnerships.

This event, part of the Taking the Call series, will:

  • Provide an overview of the CCBHC model.
  • Highlight examples of CCBHCs partnering with criminal justice entities in their communities.
  • Discuss ways to build collaborations between behavioral health and criminal justice entities.
  • Highlight ways to start and sustain a CCBHC program.
