Parent/Family engagement is often a core goal of schools as it is a critical indicator of student success. Building the relationships that create opportunities for family engagement, however, can present challenges for families that have had poor experiences with schools in the past or struggle to connect with school leadership.

Community Violence Intervention (CVI) agencies, often whose success in the community depends on creating relationships and opening communication channels with community partners, can be a valuable and trusted connection to link schools with families of students with a history of violence in schools and/or in the community.

During this webinar, panelists from school leadership and CVI agencies will talk about various roles their staff play to engage families and create opportunities to be an active participant in decisions that impact their child’s education and development.
