Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2021, $700,000)

The Alabama Board of Pardons and Paroles (ABPP) proposes to implement the SCF-Responsive Monitoring of Violent and Sex Offenders (SCF-Responsive Monitoring) program using swift, certain, and fair responses for medium to high risk offenders, convicted of violent or sex crimes that are at risk of revocation. ABPP proposes to further expand upon lessons learned from previous SCF grant funding initiatives to address the increasing need for intensive supervision of violent and/or sex offenders within a community setting. The SCF-Responsive Monitoring program will focus efforts to monitor the target populations in six counties in the state—Jefferson, Madison, Montgomery, Tuscaloosa, Etowah, and Lee.
