The Fulton County Jail (FCJ), which is under the jurisdiction of the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office (FCSO), proposes to hire a PREA Coordinator (PC) to oversee a comprehensive PREA program in the jail to reduce incidents of sexual assault and establish a culture of zero-tolerance for sexual assault in the jail. This PREA Coordinator will develop a holistic and evidence-based approach to handling PREA cases in the Fulton County Jail with the goal of reducing sexual abuse and working to increase staff capacity for preventing sexual abuse, promoting the integration of PREA standards into the day-to-day operations and cultures, identifying and documenting innovative and promising practices to inform efforts in other U.S. correctional facilities, and to create a culture of “zero tolerance” of sexual abuse. The PREA Coordinator will be supported by a highly qualified evaluation consultant who will develop the evaluation plan and assist with documentation of promising practices.
