FFY2021 - Coverdell Formula - State of TN

Project Abstract The State of Tennessee proposes to use FFY 2021 Coverdell Formula funds to support the following programs: State of Problems State of TN has a problem with documenting and archiving forensic examinations, need expanded Drug Chemistry testing at the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and had infrastructure needs for drug chemistry instruments. Another problem is easing the administrative burden on the state medicolegal death investigators, as well as improving the tools available to the county medical examiners, the OSCME would like to purchase thirty (30) surface tablets. How Award will be utilized Purchases of Headspace Autosampler Towers, Gas Chromatograph/Mass Spectormeter with Auto Sampler Towers, and Liquid Chromotogrpahy Tower for Tennessee Bureau of Investigation.Purchases of Surface Pro 6's, the surface tablets will enable county medical examiners and medical investigators to produce quality death investigation documentation. One to two sentences describing the outcome. The outcome would be to reduce the backlog work at the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation, along with reducing administrative burden to the county medical examiners and decreased financial burden to the forensic centers for cost of increased toxicology testing.
