Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2021, $78,274)

The U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Oklahoma has not yet determined the priority area for the 2021 funds. Most likely, priority will be given to law enforcement agencies, similar to the 2019 PSN grant, which was awarded to Muskogee Police Department. A subgrantee has not been selected for the 2021 award. The subgrant will likely be awarded to a police department or sheriff’s office, and the project will work toward suppressing gang activity and combatting gun crimes and other violent crimes. The structure of the project has not been finalized, but is expected to take the form of increased patrols for hot spot areas where gang crime is heaviest and violent crime is most concentrated. Once the grant direction is selected, the District Attorneys Council will send out applications and forward these to the PSN team for final selection. Both the U.S. Attorney and the PSN Team will review subgrant applications to seek the maximum impact for the citizens of the Eastern District.
