As such, the Department is committed to providing transparency to the community and ensuring police officers are acting as professionally and appropriately as possible. The Village of Pinecrest is a small city of approximately 19,000 residents, located in Southern Miami-Dade County, Florida.  The Pinecrest Police Department is a dual accredited police department consisting of 51 sworn officers that annually, responds to approximately 30,000 citizen initiated and or self-initiate calls for police service.  The Village is applying for 50% funding to purchase 47 Body Worn Cameras, to include related data collection equipment and software management systems, in order to implement their body-worn camera program.  With this funding, we will have the ability to outfit 42 sworn uniform patrol personnel with body worn cameras and maintain an inventory of 5 spare devices that would address body cameras damaged on duty.
