Project, Activities, Deliverables:

It is vital that an independent, transparent, and evidence-informed national resource be established to coordinate and prioritize law enforcement knowledge, policy, practices, and professionalization, provide modern training, and deliver practical and actionable technical assistance. The Law Enforcement Learning Lab will provide a website with core competencies and standards for law enforcement, as well as information on available training and resources, can be provided. The Lab will be guided by a robust advisory process that allows broad participation from law enforcement leadership associations, special interest and function-oriented associations and groups in law enforcement, and labor organizations. In addition to establishing a comprehensive and independent website, the National Police Foundation and its partners will provide modern and interactive scenario-based training, conduct constitutional policing assessments, develop a stakeholder advisory consortium, produce model and sample policies, develop and disseminate consent decree and special litigation findings, coordinate and provide outreach to the law enforcement profession, and support and conduct cost-benefit analysis. We will do this through web and other digital outreach, and online and in-person meetings, events, training, and symposia. To accomplish this work, the National Police Foundation has established a unique partnership among non-member organizations, including 21CP Solutions, the Institute for Intergovernmental Research, the Center for Evidence-Based Crime Policy, and many nationally-known SMEs and experts in Constitutional policing.
