The Cherokee County Sheriff's Office is seeking funding to enhance their less-lethal capabilities. The award of this grant funding will allow deputies to be outfitted with Tasers, enabling them to control most combative suspects without using lethal force. In addition, funds will be used to equip deputy firearms with cameras. This technology provides accountability by video recording what the firearm is pointed at, when it is unholstered.
