Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2022, $77,442)
(1) To encourage qualified attorneys to seek full-time employment as prosecuting attorneys or public defenders and to increase retention in employment by providing up to $10,000 of eligible student loan repayment per year for those applicants who maintain their employment for three or more years.
(2) To provide loan repayment awards of up to a maximum of $10,000 per year to as many applicants as possible, based upon the relative financial need of each applicant.
(3) To insure to the greatest extent possible an equitable distribution of grant awards to all geographic areas of the state.
