Town of Hyde Park - Body-Worn Camera Initiative

The Hyde Park Police Department is comprised of 26 sworn officers, of whom both Part Time and Full-Time Officers have contact with the public on a regular basis. HPPD is pursuing a grant in the amount of $40,000 in grant funding to procure 20 BWCs, including 4 spares, and associated costs to implement a BWC program so that all on duty officers will have a camera to utilize. In support of this project, HPD will contribute a match of $83,119.99 during the grant’s 36-month period of performance. The project will serve to improve the adjudication of cases, improve community relations, and increase officer safety.
