Proposal Abstract
The Hamilton County Justice Center is an ageing facility that has continuous needs for repairs and updates. The purpose of this grant submission is to seek funding that will be applied towards the costly repairs of this ageing but fully operational facility.
Project Purpose
The purpose of these repairs is to keep the justice center as a safe and viable location for Hamilton County residents, Hamilton County employees, and all visitors to the facility. Another purpose of these repairs is to stay current with the upkeep of the facility, rather than delaying repairs until a later date, which could result in higher costs for repairs.
Primary Activities
The primary activities that occur in the Hamilton County Justice Center are transactions pertaining to maintaining peace and order within Hamilton County. The project is scalable into four elements. Each is part of a broader security upgrade project for the Justice Center. Estimated costs for each project component include: $550,000 for replacement of security sallyport doors, $200,000 for server rack replacements, $200,000 for installation of security cameras, and $50,000 for improved server room access controls.
Expected Outcomes
Improved service to the residents of Hamilton County is the primary purpose and most anticipated outcome resulting in this grant submission. In addition, requested repairs will result in a safer building. The installation of camera and security doors will make the Hamilton County Justice center more secure with updated technology. Also, new server racks will update the existing computer system with enhanced capabilities and procedures.
The Service Area
The service area for the Hamilton County Justice Center includes 37 municipalities, including the City of Cincinnati along with 19 other cities, and 17 villages.
Beneficiaries and Subrecipients
The beneficiaries and subrecipients of the improved Hamilton Justice Center are residents of Hamilton County and employees who provide service to the county. The City of Cincinnati frequently collaborates with Hamilton County for multiple reasons and are included as a beneficiary of these improvements.
