BJA FY 23 Strengthening the Medical Examiner-Coroner System Program - Brown County Medical Examiner's Office

The Brown County Medical Examiner's Office’s (BCMEO) proposed project activities include the procurement of resources and equipment, the training and certification of personnel, and the creation of policies and procedures. The expected outcomes of the project will include ensuring that adequate administrative space for forensic pathologists exists; that appropriate safety measures are in place; that all eligible investigators have been certified with ABMDI and have taken part in continued education opportunities; that an alternative option is available for the timely, respectful transport of decedents; and that all necessary policies and procedures are being implemented and maintained. Attaining these outcomes and ultimately achieving NAME accreditation would elevate the standards of death investigation conducted by the BCMEO.
