The Indiana State Police proposes to implement a DNA backlog reduction plan. The purpose is to reduce the DNA backlog by increasing capacity and case throughput across the State of Indiana. Project activities include funding for two DNA technician positions, overtime for DNA analysts, training for DNA analysts, and purchase and implementation of DNA equipment, supplies and software.

Expected outcomes include a reduced backlog and improved turnaround time of forensic biology cases, and increased analytical capabilities of the ISP casework laboratories. The citizens of Indiana are the intended beneficiaries of the project.
