Puerto Rico's Fiscal Year 2023 Prison Rape Elimination Act (PREA) Reallocation Program

The Puerto Rico Department of Justice (PRDOJ) acting as a pass-through entity with the Puerto Rico Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (PRDCR) is requesting assistance in the form of a Bureau of Justice Assistance’s FY 2023 PREA Grant. This request is made to acquire and install security cameras to lower and/or avoid sexual incidents within the facilities and comply with the National Standards of PREA in the correctional scenario. Qualified personnel will install these surveillance cameras. The content of the training will be based on the concept of the responsibilities of the first response PREA team within the correctional scenario as required by the National Standards of PREA.
