Multidisciplinary Approach to Unsubmitted Sexual Assault Kits

The Jefferson County District Attorney’s Office (JCDA) seeks funding through BJA’s SAKI to support a multidisciplinary response to sexual assault. If awarded, funds will be used to test SAKs, assist with victim notification and services, and maintain a multidisciplinary community response team designed to bring about change in practices, protocols, and organizational culture to prevent unsubmitted SAKS from accumulating again in the future.
Across the jurisdiction, by framing the multiple components of this project through a victim-centered lens, participating agencies, partners, and project staff seek to provide a resolution for as many victims as possible.
