Alabama FY 23 Byrne JAG

The Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program is the primary provider of federal criminal justice funding to state and local jurisdictions. ADECA / LETS, as the State Administering Agency (SAA) for this program, ensures JAG funds support various components of the criminal justice system to include prevention, education, and early intervention programs, specialty courts, and multi-jurisdictional drug and violent crime task forces. The implementation process of ADECA / LETS allows units of local governments to support a broad range of activities to prevent and control crime based on their own local needs and conditions. ADECA / LETS as the SAA for this program places great emphasis on accountability and transparency in the distribution of grant funds.
