Award Information
Description of original award (Fiscal Year 2023, $1,354,863)
The Idaho State Police proposes the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) funding for FY 2023 will be utilized to fund eligible projects in Idaho, which address one of the nine (9) JAG purpose areas: law enforcement programs; prosecution and court programs; prevention and education programs; corrections and community corrections; drug treatment and enforcement programs; planning, evaluation, and technology improvement programs; crime victim and witness programs (other than compensation); mental health programs and related law enforcement and corrections programs, including behavioral programs and crisis intervention teams; and implementation of state crisis intervention court proceedings and related programs or initiatives, including, but not limited to, mental health courts, drug courts, veterans courts, and extreme risk protection order programs. Idaho does not have laws related to extreme risk protection orders (ERPO) nor any plans to enact ERPO programs, therefore JAG funding will not be used for the creation and/or implementation of any ERPO programs. It is anticipated that JAG subgrantees will be from various state, local, tribal, faith-based, and non-profit organizations from around the state who serve communities in both rural towns and urban cities across Idaho.
