City of Birmingham Violent Crime Reduction

The City of Birmingham Police Department shares the vision of the Department of Justice to enhance public safety and security.  Violent crime is a significant problem in the City of Birmingham, Alabama.  Gun violence is an ongoing problem and poses a significant problem with consequences that spill over into surrounding jurisdictions.  The Birmingham Police Department (BPD) strategizes to reduce violent crimes, by creating systems and training to current staff and the community.
