While the drones would very much be used, recent permitting issues created by Arkansas state law makes acquiring them difficult at this time. While we are completing that permitting process, we chose to instead focus on another much needed item – the laptops. Our patrol officers use their assigned laptops every day and they are a vital piece of equipment issued to every officer. With recently reaching full staffing, we were running short of laptops. The officers use these laptops for all of their reporting, for incidents and accidents and to access the CAD and their cameras.
